Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Fear Free Certified Kennel Technician to join our
team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a commitment to utilizing Fear Free practices to
create a positive experience for pets. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily care and comfort of the
animals in our kennel while ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Animal Care: Provide daily care for pets, including feeding, grooming, exercising, and administering medication as needed.
- Fear Free Practices: Implement Fear Free techniques to minimize stress and anxiety for animals during their stay.
- Monitoring Health: Observe and report any signs of illness or distress in animals to the supervising veterinarian or management.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe environment by regularly cleaning kennels and common spaces.
- Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pets’ well-being and answering any questions they may have.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with veterinary staff and other team members to ensure high-quality care and customer service.
- Behavioral Support: Assist in socializing and enriching the environment for the animals, promoting positive behaviors and interactions.
Qualifications
- Fear Free Certification (required, may be obtained within our practice).
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
